I was up late having a little wine party with some of my Tweeps last night (little shout out to Tamara, Liza, and Sarah!), so I didn't have time to write a proper post for today. Plus I've got a lot of stuff to get together for this weekend (I'm playing in church and Under Shelter is playing a Christmas party tonight), so I'm going to totally cheap out and post a video that has made me cry every time I watch it.
I've been pretty upset the past few days about the inability of the Senate to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell. I'll probably write more about that later this week, but what bothers me the most is that people are allowing differences that they don't understand keep them from allowing LGBT soldiers to serve openly. It is profoundly disappointing to me that we choose fear in the face of difference, rather than to see our similarities and to find a way to celebrate our differences.
I love, love, love the way that is illustrated in the latest short film by Pixar. It sums up my thoughts about differences so eloquently. I hope you enjoy Day and Night as much as I do!
